Etihad Airways and Africa World Airlines have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) aimed at establishing a strategic partnership.
The airlines will cooperate on codeshare and interline partnerships, cargo operations, and mileage programs. The MOU took effect on July 24, and tickets for connecting itineraries will go on sale once the interline partnership comes into effect.
The partnership will enable connections to Africa World Airlines’ routes beyond Accra and Etihad Airways’ network of 118 cities, including Abu Dhabi. In addition to cooperating on cargo transportation through Etihad Cargo, the airlines will mutually expand opportunities for earning and redeeming miles.
Etihad Airways will launch its Abu Dhabi–Accra route on March 24, 2027.
