AirAsia X has further postponed the launch of its Kuala Lumpur–Bahrain–London Gatwick route.
The airline had originally planned to operate one daily round trip from June 26. It later revised the plan to launch the route with four weekly round trips from August 27. The decision was made due to prolonged geopolitical instability in West Asia, taking into account ongoing safety and operational considerations.
Booked passengers will be offered a full refund or a refund in the form of a credit account valid for 730 days.
AirAsia X withdrew from London and Paris in March 2012, making this its first return to Europe in around 14 years. The route will be its second fifth-freedom route, while Bahrain, AirAsia X’s first global hub airport, was expected to strengthen its role as an important gateway connecting Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.
