JR East to Suspend Some Narita Line Services Due to Weather
JR Central and JR West will sequentially hold free events from September 1 at five stations—Tokyo, Shin-Osaka, Hiroshima, Hakata, and Nagoya—where visitors can experience Supreme Class, the new highest-class service to be introduced on the Tokaido and Sanyo Shinkansen lines.
Supreme Class is a new seating class offering facilities and services superior to those of Green Cars. The private-compartment-style Supreme Class Cabin will be introduced from October 1, while the semi-private Supreme Class Seat is also scheduled to enter service during fiscal 2027.
At the events, visitors can experience the seating comfort and interior space using full-scale mock-ups. Both the Cabin and Seat will be available at Tokyo and Nagoya stations, while only the Cabin will be available at the other stations. At Tokyo, Shin-Osaka, and Nagoya stations, advance reservations are required, and visitors can experience the seats for approximately 5 to 10 minutes per session while receiving an explanation from staff. Same-day participation may be possible if space is available, and visitors without reservations may still view the seats. At Hiroshima and Hakata stations, no advance reservation is required, and visitors will be admitted in order of arrival.
The events will be held at Tokyo Station from September 1 to 13, Shin-Osaka Station from September 15 to 20, Hiroshima Station from September 22 to 27, Hakata Station from September 29 to October 4, and Nagoya Station from November 1 to 8. Hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at all locations, except on September 1 at Tokyo Station, when hours will be 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Reservations are being accepted through a dedicated form.
