
JR East to End Sales of Suica Cards Featuring the Suica Penguin
JR Kyushu will resume Kyushu Shinkansen services between Kumamoto and Shin-Minamata stations on September 18.
Services on this section have been suspended due to the Kumamoto Earthquakes, while services between Shin-Minamata and Kagoshima-Chuo stations are operating at a reduced frequency.
Details of the timetable will be announced on August 31, and tickets will go on sale from noon on September 1. Changes may be made due to aftershocks or other factors.
Meanwhile, services on the Kagoshima Main Line between Uto and Yatsushiro stations are expected to resume around mid-October. Services between Kumamoto and Uto stations will also continue to operate at a reduced frequency for the time being.
