Air Cairo Orders 15 Airbus A320neo Aircraft

Air Cairo has ordered 15 Airbus A320neo aircraft. The agreement was signed at the El Alamein International Air Show 2026.

This marks Air Cairo’s first direct purchase. The airline has previously expanded its fleet primarily through leased aircraft, but will pursue its long-term growth strategy by combining purchased and leased aircraft. Its fleet has grown from seven aircraft five years ago to more than 45 today, with a target of over 130 aircraft by 2034.

Hussein Sherif, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Air Cairo, said, “Combining owned and leased aircraft will enhance operational flexibility and financial efficiency as we expand our business. The A320neo will enable us to expand our network and meet growing travel demand to and from Egypt.”

Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, Executive Vice President Sales of the Commercial Aircraft business at Airbus, said, “We are delighted by Air Cairo’s first direct purchase. It is a testament to the airline’s confidence in the A320neo as the aircraft that will support its continued growth.”

The Airbus A320 Family has received more than 20,200 orders worldwide. It reduces fuel consumption by at least 20% compared with previous-generation single-aisle aircraft.
