American Airlines began operating refurbished Boeing 777-300ER aircraft on September 2.
Announced in 2022, the aircraft feature a design following that of the Boeing 787-9 and Airbus A321XLR, which debuted in 2025. They are configured with 70 Flagship Suite seats, 44 Premium Economy seats, and 30 Main Cabin Extra seats, giving American Airlines the largest number of premium seats among U.S. carriers.
Flagship Suites feature privacy doors, chaise lounge-style seats, and larger personal storage spaces. Premium Economy also offers wireless charging, USB-C power, and AC outlets. Every seat is equipped with a seatback monitor, and complimentary Wi-Fi is provided.
With the introduction of Flagship Suites, American Airlines will end sales of Flagship First on Boeing 777-300ER aircraft for travel from November 19 onward. As the Airbus A321XLR is introduced on more routes, it will also end sales of Flagship First on U.S. transcontinental routes for travel from March 28, 2027 onward.
