Japan Airlines (JAL) will continue the current international fuel surcharge amounts for tickets issued from October onwards.
The surcharge is calculated based on the two-month average market price of Singapore kerosene, converted to yen using the two-month average exchange rate. From June to July, the average market price of Singapore kerosene was $97.89 per barrel, with the exchange rate at 157.95 yen to the dollar, resulting in a yen-converted amount of 15,462 yen.
For itineraries departing from Japan between October 1st and November 30th, the surcharge per one-way ticket will be 4,000 yen for Korea and Far East Russia routes, 9,200 yen for East Asia excluding Korea and Mongolia, 12,000 yen for Guam, Palau, Philippines, Vietnam, Mongolia, and Russia (Irkutsk), 18,500 yen for Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, and Russia (Novosibirsk), 22,500 yen for Hawaii, Indonesia, India, and Sri Lanka, and 35,000 yen for North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Oceania excluding Hawaii.
