New Service at Tokyo Station: Pick Up Allergy-Friendly Meals from Lockers
JR East Smart Logistics has launched a service for picking up “matoil” bento boxes, which cater to food allergies, from refrigerated lockers at Tokyo Station.
“Matoil” is a service offered as part of Kyocera’s new business idea startup program, in collaboration with the Tokyo Marunouchi Innovation Platform.
The service provides bento boxes that cater to allergies to eight specific ingredients: shrimp, crab, walnuts, wheat, buckwheat, eggs, dairy, and peanuts. It reduces the burden when picking up allergy-friendly meals for family trips, school excursions, and extracurricular activities.
The pilot program runs from October 1, 2023, to March 31, 2025. The installation location is inside the JR Tokyo Station ticket gates, at Gransta Tokyo Keiyo Street Area.
