JR West Launches ‘Kounotori Subscription Pass’ – Unlimited Rides from 6,500 Yen for 30 Days

JR West is offering the ‘Kounotori Subscription Pass’ for sale from November 18, 2021, to February 28, 2025.

This pass allows unlimited rides in ordinary cars designated seats on the ‘Kounotori’ limited express within the specified sections. The pass is valid for 30 days from the date of purchase, but cannot be used from December 28, 2021, to January 6, 2025. A ‘Subscription Exclusive Reserved Seat Ticket’ must be presented, which can be reserved from the day before boarding, for boarding. A separate fare ticket that includes the user’s section, such as a season ticket or an IC card with a Stored Fare (SF) balance, is required in addition.

The price ranges from 6,500 yen for Shin-Osaka/Osaka to Sanda/Shin-Sanda stations, to 7,500 yen for Shin-Osaka/Osaka to Sasayamaguchi stations. Of this fee, 500 yen can be paid with WESTER Points (500 points). The specified sections allow for use between the stations where the ‘Kounotori’ limited express stops, except for usage solely between Shin-Osaka and Amagasaki stations. The pass is only available for purchase through JR West’s online reservation service ‘e5489’, and is not available at stations.
