Alaska Airlines will open three new routes on May 15, including the Portland-Houston and Eugene-Medford routes.
The Portland-Houston route will operate one round trip per day using a Boeing 737. The schedule is set at convenient times for both business and leisure travelers. Houston is considered the largest city not currently served by Alaska Airlines from Portland.
The Portland-Eugene route will operate two round trips per day with an Embraer E175 aircraft. The schedule is designed to accommodate connecting flights in Portland and cater to day-trip demand.
The Medford-San Diego route will also operate one round trip per day with an Embraer E175, becoming the 41st city served from San Diego.
Portland serves as one of the West Coast hubs for Alaska Airlines, being the largest airline operating more than 100 daily flights to 58 destinations, including four international routes. Flights within Oregon, where Portland is located, are also increasing, with the Portland-Medford route expanding from one to four round trips per day and Portland-Redmond increasing to three daily year-round.
