Air Busan has prohibited the storage of mobile batteries and similar items in the overhead compartments on its flights.
Items affected include auxiliary or spare batteries, lighters, and matches.
In a fire incident involving an Air Busan aircraft at Busan’s Gimhae International Airport on January 28, it was reported that a mobile battery stored in the overhead compartment by a passenger was the likely source of the fire, although authorities are still investigating the cause.
