Panstar Group to Launch New Ship ‘Panstar Miracle’ on April 10
Shin Nihonkai Ferry has announced plans to construct a new ship.
The ship will replace the vessel currently operating on the Otaru-Maizuru route, with the first ship being constructed at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Shimonoseki Shipyard and slated to commence operations in December. The naming and launching ceremony is scheduled for April 29.
The ship measures 199 meters in length with a gross tonnage of approximately 14,300 tons. It can carry about 150 trucks and 30 passenger cars, with a passenger capacity of 286.
The interior features a three-level atrium entrance and a see-through elevator, with a two-level atrium forward salon at the bow. The top floor includes an open-air bath and a multipurpose room.
Cabins include suites with ocean view bathrooms, deluxe rooms with private terraces, stateroom cabins equipped with showers and toilets, state Japanese-Western rooms perfect for family trips, and with-pet rooms for those traveling with pets.
The ship incorporates state-of-the-art energy-saving designs, including a ducktail, a first for domestic ferries, and an energy-efficient anti-rolling system using an anti-rolling tank and fin stabilizer, achieving greater energy savings compared to existing vessels.
