JR East Holds Shinkansen Time Sale with 60% Discount
JR East will change the start date for the time sale release of “Shinkansen e-tickets (Toku-da-ne).”
Although sales for certain periods began at 5:00 a.m. today, May 22, there was a temporary difficulty connecting to the Eki-net. Given the expected high volume of reservations, the start dates for bookings will be changed to allow reservations by region.
Tickets for rides between June 12 and 22 were initially planned to be sold from 5:00 a.m. tomorrow, May 23, but for the Akita Shinkansen “Komachi,” sales will start from 5:00 a.m. on May 27, for the Yamagata Shinkansen “Tsubasa,” from 5:00 a.m. on May 28, and for the Joetsu Shinkansen “Toki,” from 5:00 a.m. on May 29.
During the time sale, only the Akita Shinkansen “Komachi,” Yamagata Shinkansen “Tsubasa,” and Joetsu Shinkansen “Toki” will be available at a 60% discount. The designated sections are between Tokyo, Ueno, Omiya stations and Shizukuishi to Akita station, Yonezawa to Shinjo station, Ura-sawa to Niigata station. The price between Tokyo and Akita station will be approximately 10,000 yen less than the regular price.
Key route prices are 7,120 yen (regularly 17,820 yen) between Tokyo and Akita station, 4,490 yen (regularly 11,250 yen) between Tokyo and Yamagata station, and 4,210 yen (regularly 10,560 yen) between Tokyo and Niigata station. Child fares are also available.
