
Hoshino Resorts to Open KAI Zao in Japan in Autumn 2026
Marriott International has signed an agreement with Pacifica Hotels to open two City Express by Marriott properties in Osaka, Japan.
City Express by Marriott Osaka Shin-Imamiya will rebrand the FP HOTELS Namba Minami, which opened in April 2017. The building has 9 floors and 100 guest rooms. It is close to Shin-Imamiya Station, served by JR, Nankai, and Osaka Metro.
City Express by Marriott Osaka Namba Minami will rebrand the Hotel Blumen Hanazonokita, which opened in September 2018. The building has 14 floors and 143 guest rooms. It is near Osaka Metro Hanazonocho Station and located along National Route 26.
As part of a strategy to expand the midscale portfolio in Japan and across the Asia-Pacific region, both properties are owned by investor AB Capital. The target opening is spring 2026.
City Express by Marriott will make its debut in the Asia-Pacific region. A brand acquired in 2023, it operates midscale hotels in Mexico and Latin America.
Pacifica Capital, part of the Marriott International and Pacifica Hotels group, operates Moxy Tokyo Kinshicho, Moxy Kyoto Nijo, and Fairfield by Marriott Osaka Namba.
