Mt. Fuji Shizuoka Airport will revamp its parking services and make all parking fully fee-based as of April 1.
The changes apply to approximately 2,000 parking spaces in lots P1 to P5. A ticketless system using license plate recognition will be introduced, eliminating the need to receive and keep parking tickets when entering and exiting. Various cashless payment methods and an advance payment service via smartphones and other devices will be gradually introduced, along with an automatic receipt aggregation function for in-terminal purchase discount services. New offerings will also include long-term commuter passes and various promotional discounts.
At the same time, parking fees will be revised, and all parking areas, including certain sections that were previously free of charge, will become paid. The airport will switch to a fee structure that combines time-based charges with a daily maximum, and will introduce discounts linked to dining and shopping inside the terminal, long-term commuter pass services, reservation services, and discounts for people with physical disabilities.
Parking fees will be 200 yen per hour as the basic rate, with a daily maximum of 1,000 yen. The first 60 minutes will be free in all areas. On the day of exit, if you dine or shop in the terminal building, 60 minutes of parking will be free for purchases of 1,000 yen or more including tax, and 120 minutes will be free for purchases of 2,000 yen or more including tax. When reserving a space in the reservation area online, a reservation fee of 1,000 yen will be required in addition to the parking fee. The commuter pass service is planned to be 15,000 yen per month and cannot be combined with other discounts.
