Turkish Airlines Resumes Istanbul–Tirana Route from January 23
Air Canada will suspend its routes to Cuba due to a shortage of aviation fuel.
This decision comes in response to the continued shortage of aviation fuel in Cuba. For several days, the airline will operate ferry flights to Cuba to assist the return of approximately 3,000 people who have already visited the country. Most of these passengers are users of Air Canada Vacations.
As of February 10, commercial supplies of aviation fuel are expected to be halted at airports in Cuba. The remaining flights will carry additional fuel and, if necessary, operate technical landings in order to continue flights to Canada.
Air Canada operates an average of 16 round-trip flights per week from Toronto and Montreal to four cities in Cuba. Some seasonal flights have been suspended through the end of the winter schedule. Year-round flights are expected to resume on a provisional basis on May 1.
