Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Shinmachi Bettei reopened after renovation on February 22.
In addition to lattice designs and furnishings made with natural materials, the hotel presents the traditions of Kyoto in a contemporary style by decorating guest rooms with yuzen-dyeing art and using obi fabric on the lobby sofas. One junior suite twin room and five deluxe twin rooms have been renovated, with interiors, furniture, and amenities fully updated to accommodate up to four guests per room. The junior suite twin now features a living area and completely renewed wet areas. The deluxe twin rooms have been renovated into modern Japanese spaces with raised floors and tatami areas. The number of guest rooms equipped with wide king beds measuring 222 centimeters in width has been increased from 12 to 24.
In the lobby lounge, a gallery space has been created to introduce the history of the Matsuzakaya kimono merchant. Large windows overlooking the garden and sofa seating have been arranged, and a free drink corner with a coffee machine and detox water has also been installed.
