Rakuten Travel Launches “Tokutabi Campaign” Offering Up to 15x Points on Domestic Stays in Japan
Trip.com is partnering with four JR railway companies to offer Shinkansen train tickets across Japan to inbound travelers visiting Japan.
In collaboration with JR East, JR Central, JR West, and JR Kyushu, the service aims to eliminate concerns related to purchasing tickets after arrival in Japan and language barriers, while also enabling bundled reservations with flight tickets, accommodations, and more, thereby providing a smooth and secure travel experience.
After entering the date, departure station, and arrival station, users can select not only their preferred train, but also the seat type such as reserved seat or Green Car (first-class car). For reserved seats, they can also choose seat options such as “seat with oversized baggage space” or “office car.”
Depending on the ticket type, passengers can either board using a QR code or issue paper tickets at a ticket vending machine. On the Tokaido Shinkansen, Sanyo Shinkansen, and Kyushu Shinkansen, only QR code boarding is available.
