Hyatt Hotels will update the World of Hyatt award chart in May.
Within the existing eight categories set for each hotel, the number of point redemption levels will be expanded from the current three tiers to five tiers. The required points will be fixed-point amounts and will be publicly disclosed. The last change to the award chart was in 2021.
According to Hyatt, this will reduce the need for large future increases in required points and major changes to categories. The changes will be implemented gradually over several years.
As an additional new feature, Hyatt will introduce point sharing and a function that allows elite members and co-branded credit card holders to check award night availability earlier than others.
