A charter flight from Riyadh to Tokyo/Narita, arranged by the Japanese government, has arrived at Narita Airport in Japan.
Operated as Ethiopian Airlines flight ET8410, the service used a Boeing 787-9 aircraft (registration: ET-AUR). It departed Riyadh at 2:58 p.m. local time on March 13 and arrived at Narita Airport at 7:13 a.m. on the following day, March 14. According to Japan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in addition to 220 Japanese nationals wishing to depart from Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia, two Taiwanese nationals also boarded the flight, utilizing remaining seats from the perspective of mutual cooperation for the protection of each country’s citizens. Four members of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Emergency Response Team (ERT) were also involved in implementing this assistance for departure.
This was the fourth government-arranged charter flight operated by Ethiopian Airlines. In addition, Emirates and All Nippon Airways (ANA) each operated one such flight.
