HIS Updates Measures in Response to Middle East Situation
Nippon Travel Agency will discontinue its “Baritoku” same-day travel products that use the Sanyo Shinkansen in western Japan.
Sales will end for the “Baritoku Kodama,” “Baritoku Hikari,” and “Baritoku Tsubame” products. Ticket sales will cease with departures on March 31.
Each “Baritoku” product is a set that combines a Shinkansen base fare and limited express ticket with a “Pochitto Gift” that can be received at Seven-Eleven convenience stores in Japan. Reservations can be made until 4:00 p.m. on the day before departure, and tickets can be picked up at station reserved-seat ticket machines. Green Car (first-class) options are also available. Sample prices from Shin-Osaka Station to Fukuoka City start at 11,600 yen, and to Kumamoto City start at 15,400 yen.
For travel on or after April 1, customers are asked to use the “tabiwa-toku” discount products instead. These can only be purchased by WESTER members, and some sections of the line are not covered.
