Tobu Railway’s SL Taiju ‘Hani-tsu’ to Run from Shimo-Imaichi to Aizu-Wakamatsu, Crossing Four Railway Operators
The installment-style travel service “HafH,” operated by KabuK Style in Japan, has launched its new AI travel assistant, “Haffy.”
Haffy is implemented as a chat-based search function within the HafH app. By simply using natural phrases such as “a hotel where I can stay with my pet,” “a hotel where children can share a bed with parents,” or “a hotel with good access from New Chitose Airport,” the AI suggests the most suitable hotels. In addition to conventional filters like price, facilities, and location, it adopts semantic search technology that has learned from and analyzes over 10,000 stay-experience stories posted by HafH members. Its key feature is that it understands the context and experiential value of trips as meaning—such as “easy to stay with my dog” or “the kids were delighted at the aquarium”—and reflects that in the search results. Even if travelers have not yet decided on a destination, they can receive suggestions based on vague wishes like “I want to relax in a hot spring” or “I want to spend time while looking at the ocean.”
The AI travel consultation service “Hafcchi,” which was available via HafH’s official LINE account in Japan, has been discontinued following the release of Haffy.
HafH is currently a subscription-based travel service that can be used at 20,000 hotels, ryokan (traditional Japanese inns), and guesthouses in more than 1,900 cities across 130 countries, including Japan. With the addition of this AI assistant function, HafH aims to enhance the in-app experience so that users can complete everything from hotel searching to travel planning within the app.
