JAL retires Shohei Ohtani special livery “DREAM SHO JET” Airbus A350
Cambodia Airways has received its first ATR 72-600 aircraft.
The aircraft was introduced through Avation, a Singapore-based leasing company, under a 12-year lease. It is one of the 15 aircraft ordered in April 2024 and March this year. This is Avation’s first lease to Cambodia Airways. The first aircraft is expected to enter service within this month, and the second aircraft is scheduled to be introduced in the fourth quarter.
Cambodia Airways, based in Phnom Penh, is the largest airline in Cambodia in terms of passenger numbers. It mainly operates domestic flights within Cambodia and leisure routes in the Southeast Asia region. The airline selected this aircraft type as a highly reliable, low-emission, and low-cost regional aircraft to capture demand on short-haul routes to neighboring countries. Long-haul routes to destinations such as China will be operated by larger aircraft, while the ATR 72-600 will be used to strengthen the airline’s intra-Southeast Asia network.
Compared with regional jets of the same class, ATR aircraft can reduce fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions by 45 percent, and also offer low noise levels, a comfortable ride, and a spacious cabin. The airline aims to increase flight frequencies while also reducing environmental impact.
According to Avation, this aircraft is not subject to any security interest, and the company owns a total of nine aircraft that do not have security interests attached.
