H.I.S. Co., Ltd. (HIS), a major Japanese travel agency, will hold the “LeaLea Charity Run 5K by HIS” on October 11.
The event began in 2011 with the aim of supporting recovery efforts following the Great East Japan Earthquake, and it is now held as an annual event to support the local community in Hawaii. Organized by HIS Hawaii, the 2025 edition drew 371 entries and raised a total of 20,476 US dollars in donations.
The venue will be Ala Moana Beach Park in Honolulu, Hawaii, with the race scheduled to start at 7:00 a.m. The course will be approximately 5 kilometers, running from the park to Magic Island, and a beach clean-up activity will take place after the race. Participants must be at least 7 years old. The entry fee ranges from 30 to 50 US dollars depending on the registration date, and a new student discount will also be offered. Registration will be accepted through a dedicated entry website.
The full amount of the entry fees, along with the special discounted portion of sightseeing entertainment tours presented to participants, will be donated to the Waikiki Aquarium, which conducts research and conservation of coral reefs and marine ecosystems. The funds will be used for projects such as renovating the coral reef exhibit “Edge of the Reef.”
