Etihad Airways will launch a new route between Abu Dhabi and the Red Sea, Saudi Arabia, on October 4.
The airline will initially operate one weekly round trip on Sundays, increasing to two weekly round trips from October 25 with an additional Thursday service. Airbus A320 aircraft, configured with 8 business class seats and 150 economy class seats, will be used. Flight time is just over three hours.
The Red Sea destination is located along the coast of Tabuk Province in northwestern Saudi Arabia. More than 90 islands dot its shallow turquoise waters, which form one of the world’s largest coral reef systems. The resort area offers nature-based experiences including diving, sailing, and desert exploration. The airport is located within the resort, allowing travelers to proceed directly to their hotel upon arrival.
This will be Etihad Airways’ sixth destination in Saudi Arabia, following Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, Medina, and Al Qassim.
