Recruit has launched sales of the Kagoshima Prefecture travel support program, the “Kagoshima Tourism Support Discount,” on the travel booking website Jalan.net from 10:00 a.m. on September 24.
Following accommodation cancellations caused by the Kumamoto earthquakes, this campaign is being implemented independently by Kagoshima Prefecture, separate from the Japanese government’s “Kyushu Reconstruction Support Discount” travel assistance program. It offers discounts of up to 60% on accommodation costs for trips involving overnight stays within the prefecture, up to a maximum of ¥20,000 per person per booking. Day trips and accommodation for publicly funded business travel or other business trips are not eligible.
The sales and stay period runs through October 13 (for checkouts the following day). Applications are accepted through direct reservations with eligible properties, as well as through travel agencies and accommodation booking websites. When using the discount, the representative must verify their identity and complete a subsidy application form.
