MLIT Approves Advanced Tram Transport Plan for Utsunomiya LRT Extension
JR Kyushu began allowing passengers to select box, counter, and sofa seats through its JR Kyushu Online Train Reservation Service on October 1.
Passengers can directly select, reserve, and purchase eligible seats from seat maps on smartphones and computers. Eligible seats include box seats on the Relay Kamome, Midori, Nichirin, Nichirin Seagaia, Kasasagi, Kirameki, Yufuin no Mori, Aso Boy!, A-Train, and Ibusuki no Tamatebako; sofa and table seats on the Kawasemi Yamasemi; and box and counter seats on the Futatsuboshi 4047. Some special trains may also be eligible.
Box seats can be reserved for groups of three or more, while counter and sofa seats can be reserved for groups of two or more. Counter and sofa seats do not have partitions between seats, and the seat map may differ from the actual onboard layout. Groups of five using box seats must purchase tickets at a station ticket office or a reserved-seat ticket vending machine.
