Virgin Atlantic is celebrating its 40th anniversary with special initiatives.
At London Heathrow Airport’s Clubhouse, a special 40th anniversary beer will be offered. It’s a crisp and smooth pale ale brewed in Wimbledon using British Maris Otter and Caramalt. Additionally, a display of cabin crew uniforms through the ages is featured.
All Clubhouses will serve a new cocktail, “Maiden Voyager,” named after the aircraft that flew the London/Gatwick-New York/Newark route in 1984. It reimagines the iconic 80s “Woo Woo” cocktail in a contemporary way with vodka, peach puree, fresh lime, grenadine, egg white, and peach bitters. Also, a special birthday teacake made of red velvet sponge topped with whipped cream and berries is offered, along with an addition of 80s hit songs to the playlist.
Inflight, the special cocktail “Virgin Redhead,” previously served only in the Clubhouse, will be available in all classes. It’s complimentary in Upper Class and available for purchase in others. The “Mile High Afternoon Tea” also gets a new theme. Moreover, in partnership with Bottega, two types of limited edition Prosecco bottles with a special 40th anniversary design will be released.
