World Travel System, a wholesaler for travel agencies and a consolidated subsidiary of Rakuten Group, has decided executive personnel changes effective January 1, 2024.
Mr. Hiroyasu Yasuda will be appointed as the Representative Director Chairman, and Mr. Fumihiko Nagatomi will be appointed as the Representative Director President. The current Representative Director President, Mr. Demant Tucker, and Representative Director Chairman, Mr. Futohi Habuki, will step down.
Mr. Yasuda, after serving in Asahi Glass Co., Ltd. (now AGC Inc.), joined the current Rakuten Group in 2008. He held multiple key positions and has been the General Manager of the Domestic Transport Division, which develops package products such as ‘Raku-Paku’ handled by Rakuten Travel, and subsequently the Representative Director of Rakuten ANA Travel Online. Since 2020, he has been serving as the General Manager of the Mobility Business Division, handling car rental and express bus reservations, as well as the General Manager of the Hotel Partnership Promotion Division.
Mr. Nagatomi, having been at Kyocera, joined the current Rakuten Group in 2010. He engaged in sales consulting for accommodation facilities mainly in the Kansai region for ‘Rakuten Travel’, the travel reservation service. After serving in various key positions, he has been the General Manager of the Hotel and Inn Consulting Division since 2017.
