The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan has resumed the issuance of the ‘APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC)’.
On January 12, the ministry announced a temporary suspension of issuance due to some materials being difficult to obtain. As of now, the outlook for the issuance of mid-process cards, addition of destinations, and re-issuance is as follows: requests made until December 15 are scheduled for early February, while those made until January 15 are expected to be processed from mid to late February.
The APEC Business Travel Card is issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to businesspeople from participating countries and regions. Smooth entry and exit are facilitated by prior screening conducted by the governments of each country and region. For short-term business purposes, a visa is exempted for entry into the countries and regions that have approved the pre-screening.
