
JR Central hosts Hamamatsu Works open day with battery-powered N700S and ‘shortest Shinkansen’
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has agreed to examine a project plan with Tokyo Waterfront Area Rapid Transit as the operational entity and the Japan Railway Construction, Transport and Technology Agency (JRTT) as the maintenance entity for the “Central and Waterfront Area Subway”.
The project plan drafted in November 2022 encompasses a route approximately 6.1 kilometers long, connecting Tokyo Station with Ariake and Tokyo Big Sight, and includes plans for stations at locations such as Shin-Ginza, Shin-Tsukiji, Kachidoki, Harumi, and Toyosu Market (all names are provisional).
