Technical Issues with the ‘Tourist Levy for Foreign Visitors’ System Implemented by the Bali Regional Government
The Consulate-General of Japan in Denpasar has issued a warning about technical issues with the ‘Tourist Levy for Foreign Visitors’ system introduced by the Bali Regional Government, targeting foreign tourists visiting Bali, starting from February 14th.
The levy is set at 150,000 Indonesian Rupiah (approximately 1,410 JPY) per person. It is required to be paid before arrival in Bali or during the trip, through the ‘Love Bali’ system, with payment options including credit card and bank transfer.
Since the start of operations, there have been many unresolved issues, including problems with the system. There have been instances where payments could be completed despite error messages; therefore, it is advised to save screenshots of error screens and to make inquiries via email if necessary. It is also reported that downloading the QR code from the system may not always be possible.
