Hotel New Otani Tokyo, celebrating its 60th opening anniversary, is offering the ‘Sumo Morning Practice Viewing Stay Plan’.
The practice session to be observed features Yokozuna Terunofuji, who has secured his 9th victory after four tournaments at the Isegahama stable, where guests can enjoy photo sessions with the wrestlers right after practice and a lunch with all-you-can-eat special chanko, among other daily meals of the wrestlers while in the company of the room’s wrestlers.
For the night before the morning practice, two series of rooms have been prepared: the ‘Executive House Zen’ and the ‘Shin-Edo Suite’, which allow guests to enjoy Japanese culture. Some rooms feature a cypress bath and are themed around Japanese ‘wa’ and Edo.
The stay is scheduled for May 5th, and reservations began at 10 AM on March 8th. The accommodation fee, including taxes and service charges, starts from 140,000 yen per room for two people for one night. This offer is limited to 25 hotel members.
