Qatar Airways has suspended its Tokyo/Haneda to Doha service as of April 1st, following the launch of the same route by Japan Airlines (JAL) on March 31st.
The Tokyo/Haneda to Doha service by Qatar Airways was launched in June 2014. After a suspension due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the service had just resumed in June 2023, operating one round trip per day. The flight from Doha, QR812, departed at 6:45 am, arriving in Tokyo/Haneda at 10:30 pm. The return flight, QR813, left Tokyo/Haneda at 11:55 pm, arriving in Doha the next morning at 6:50 am. The aircraft used were either Airbus A350-900 or Airbus A350-1000, with some equipped with the Qsuite, a business class suite with doors.
The final flight schedule was adjusted, with the QR812 flight leaving Doha at 7:15 am and arriving in Tokyo/Haneda at 11:30 pm; and the QR813 flight leaving Tokyo/Haneda at 1:00 am, arriving in Doha at 6:30 am. The last operations were on March 31st for the Doha departure and April 1st for the Tokyo/Haneda departure.
The final flight from Doha on March 31st, QR812 (operated by an Airbus A350-900 with the registration number A7-AMH), arrived at Tokyo/Haneda’s spot 114 at 10:49 pm. The last flight from Tokyo/Haneda, QR813, departed at 0:53 am on April 1st.
Following the suspension of the Tokyo/Haneda to Doha service, Qatar Airways will maintain its network through two routes: Tokyo/Narita to Doha and the Osaka/Kansai to Doha service, which resumed on March 1st. It will code-share with JAL’s Tokyo/Haneda to Doha service.
JAL’s Tokyo/Haneda to Doha service utilizes a Boeing 787-9 with a configuration of 52 business class seats, 35 premium economy seats, and 116 economy seats, operating one round trip per day. This marks the first time a Japanese airline has launched a direct service to the Middle East.
