WestJet is making its Tokyo/Narita to Calgary route operational throughout the year.
Initially starting as a seasonal scheduled flight on April 30th, 2023, with three round trips per week, the service was not available during the winter season. Operations for this term restarted on April 8th, with up to one round trip per day.
For the winter schedule, flights from Tokyo/Narita will depart on Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, while flights from Calgary will depart on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, maintaining three round trips per week. The flights will utilize Boeing 787-9 aircraft, equipped with 16 business class seats, 28 premium class seats, and 276 economy class seats, summing up to a total of 320 seats. The scheduled duration is 9 hours and 1 minute from Tokyo/Narita, and 10 hours and 35 minutes from Calgary.
WestJet aims to maintain Calgary’s status as one of North America’s most accessible mid-sized hubs, attracting more tourists to Alberta and enhancing global tourism opportunities. Through its joint operations (codeshare) with Japan Airlines (JAL), it also offers access to seven cities.
