WestJet Airlines is ramping up its mid to long-haul routes for the winter schedule.
The Calgary to Tokyo/Narita route will switch to year-round operations with three round trips per week, maintaining its Asian network through codeshare flights with Japan Airlines (JAL).
Also, the airline will operate daily round trips from Calgary to London/Heathrow and Paris/Charles de Gaulle. Although these routes were already operational during the winter, increasing the Paris route to a daily round trip allows access to 53 cities in Europe through Air France.
There will also be an increase in flights to popular leisure destinations like Hawaii and Mexico. The schedule includes 13 round trips per week from Calgary to Cancun, a daily round trip from Calgary to Puerto Vallarta, three round trips per week from Calgary to Honolulu, and a daily round trip from Toronto to Cancun.
All routes will be operated by Boeing 787-9 aircraft to meet the high demand.
