Retro Melon Ice Cream Returns to Celebrate 60 Years of Tokaido Shinkansen
JR Tokai Retailing Plus will commemorate the 60th anniversary of the Tokaido Shinkansen by bringing back a limited flavor of “Sujata Ice Cream” – “Melon Ice” starting July 1.
This flavor was previously sold for about two years starting July 2013 and was so well-received that production was increased and the sale period extended beyond its original schedule. While it was initially offered as ice milk, it has been enhanced and returns as a more delicious ice cream. The melon used is exclusively Shizuoka Prefecture-grown muskmelon, combined with Crown Melon puree, fresh milk, and Hokkaido-produced cream.
The Tokaido Shinkansen Green Car Mobile Ordering Service, select stores, vending machines, and the official online shop will sell the product. The price is 430 yen (tax included).
