Oki Plaza Hotel to Reopen on July 1st After Renovation

The Oki Plaza Hotel announced its reopening on July 1st after undergoing renovations.

With the concept of “Falling Deeper in Love with the Oki Islands,” the hotel has been refurbished to allow guests to deeply experience the charm of the Oki Islands. The hotel boasts a total of 36 rooms. The executive floors, “Twilight” and “Shinonome,” have been newly established on the 8th and 9th floors, respectively. Each room offers an ocean view bed type. The deluxe corner room features a three-sided panoramic view of the sea, the port, and the cityscape, complete with a semi-open-air bath to enjoy the view of the sea. The floors are adorned with black pine nameplates from Oki, and the rooms are equipped with cotton stoles dyed with soil from Nishinoshima of the Oki Islands and tea serving trays handmade by carpenters from Dōgo.

The dining area on the second floor is decorated with red walls inspired by the red cliffs of Chiburijima of the Oki Islands, with scarlet-colored walls. The hotel serves local cuisine focusing on ingredients from the island. The 10th floor has been opened as a sky lounge that can also be used as a banquet room, where guests can enjoy breakfast while looking out at the sea. The lounge on the first floor has been arranged to include a tourist information corner for the Oki Islands and a gift shop that selects the finest products from the island, creating a space for interaction with locals.
