Korean Air Launches First Boeing 787-10 Flight between Tokyo/Narita and Seoul/Incheon
Korean Air will introduce the newly acquired Boeing 787-10 aircraft (aircraft registration: HL8515) on the Tokyo/Narita to Seoul/Incheon route starting today, July 25th.
The ferry flight from Charleston, USA, where Boeing’s factory is located, was carried out on July 19th, arriving at Incheon International Airport the evening of the next day.
The cabin configuration includes 36 Prestige Class seats and 289 Economy Class seats, making a total of 325 seats. Prestige Class features the latest solitary type seats, “Prestige Suite 2.0.”
The “Prestige Suite 2.0” adopts a ‘1–2–1’ arrangement and is equipped with a partition of 132 cm in height, offering full-flat beds with a total length of 198 cm, a seat pitch of 117 cm, and a seat width of 53 cm. The monitor is a 24-inch 4K compatible, and also supports Bluetooth connection. Wireless charging, AC power, and USB-C power are also available. The pattern inspired by Korean pojagi (traditional Korean embroidered cloth) and the interior colors—Cream like Joseon Dynasty’s white porcelain, brass-like gold, blue-tinted charcoal grey, and black—create a serene ambiance.
Economy Class is arranged in a ‘3-3-3’ configuration, featuring up to 120 degrees of reclining and adjustable headrests. The seat pitch is 81 cm, the seat width is 44 cm, and the monitor is a 13-inch 4K.
The Boeing 787-10 is the longest fuselage model within the Boeing 787 series. It is equipped with General Electric’s GEnx engines. The aircraft uses a rear fuselage, raked wingtips, and flap support fairings manufactured by Korean Air.
After the Tokyo/Narita to Seoul/Incheon flights, there are plans to introduce the aircraft on medium to long-haul routes to America and Europe.
