Thai AirAsia X has resumed operations of the Nagoya/Central Japan to Bangkok/Suvarnabhumi route starting August 1.
The first flight arriving from Bangkok was welcomed with a water salute. A re-launch ceremony was held at the Event Plaza Stage coinciding with the departure of the first flight from Nagoya/Central Japan, with Chubu Centrair International Airport’s President, Riki Inuzuka, stating, “We are extremely pleased that Thai AirAsia X is connecting Centrair and Bangkok once again after about four years. We hope that the resumption of operations will further enhance exchanges between Thailand and the central region.” Chuwit Sirivejkul, Director-General for East Asia, Tourism Authority of Thailand, and Tassapon Bijleveld, CEO of Thai AirAsia X, also attended the ceremony. The seat occupancy rate was 85%.
The service operates four round trips a week on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday, with an Airbus A330-300 configured with 12 premium flatbeds and 365 standard seats for Monday and Wednesday, and 30 premium flatbeds and 255 standard seats on Thursday and Saturday.
This route was first established in 2018 and had been suspended during the COVID-19 pandemic.
