JAL to Deploy Airbus A350-1000 on Tokyo/Haneda-Dallas Route Starting August 23

Japan Airlines (JAL) will operate its Airbus A350-1000 aircraft on the Tokyo/Haneda-Dallas/Fort Worth route daily starting August 23.

The Airbus A350-1000 was initially introduced to this route on April 17, operating every other day except on certain exclusion days. Originally, the plan was to increase the frequency to one round trip per day starting August 15. However, this was postponed to August 29 before being moved up.

The Airbus A350-1000 will be JAL’s new flagship on international routes, succeeding the Boeing 777-300ER, which was the mainstay of its international fleet. The aircraft features 239 seats in a four-class configuration: 6 first-class seats in a ‘1-1-1’ arrangement, 54 business-class seats in a ‘1-2-1’ arrangement, 24 premium economy class seats in a ‘2-4-2’ layout, and 155 economy class seats in a ‘3-3-3’ arrangement. For the first time in JAL, both first class and business class come as private compartments with doors. The in-flight entertainment (IFE) systems in all classes feature 4K resolution screens, and can be connected to wireless headphones via Bluetooth.

Within this fiscal year, JAL plans to expand its Airbus A350-1000 fleet to eight aircraft, and is planning to deploy it on the Tokyo/Haneda-London/Heathrow JL43/44 flights this autumn.
