Fauchon Hotel Kyoto Offers Afternoon Tea Featuring French Regional Sweets and Cuisine
Fauchon Hotel Kyoto offers an afternoon tea that features a variety of regional sweets and dishes from across France.
With the theme of “Traveling through France with Afternoon Tea,” the menu is designed to give guests a taste of different regional cuisine in one sitting. The lineup includes over 20 varieties of Fauchon tea, along with sweets like the “Puits d’Amour” with its caramelized crispy surface and rich cream, and a mini parfait using Baba from the Lorraine region, infused with liqueur for an adult flavor; the savory section features bite-sized specialties like Brittany’s galettes and Lorraine’s quiche Lorraine.
The venue is “Salon de Thé Fauchon” on the 10th floor. The afternoon tea service is available in two sessions; the first from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM and the second from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Evening sessions run from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM with the option to start at any time, and last orders are taken at 8:00 PM. Both require reservations. The price is 7,500 yen.
Additionally, the “Grand Café Fauchon” on the 10th floor serves a fall menu featuring French dishes such as “Marinated Horse Mackerel and Autumn Garden”, highlighting the rich flavors of autumn ingredients. This is available from September 1 to November 30, with lunch served from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM, and dinner from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM. Prices start at 6,000 yen for lunch and 15,000 yen for dinner, including tax and service charges.
