JR Kyushu Launches ‘QR Ticketless’ Service Using QR Codes
JR Kyushu has launched its ticketless service ‘QR Ticketless’ on September 26, utilizing QR codes.
When booking via JR Kyushu’s Internet Train Reservation Service, selecting ‘QR Boarding’ will issue a QR ticket. This QR ticket can be scanned at automatic ticket gates or readers for boarding limited express trains and Shinkansen.
The service is available for limited express trains departing from or arriving at Hakata Station and for the operational sections of the West Kyushu Shinkansen. The ‘Kaiou’ is not included. Payment is only available through online credit card transactions. QR tickets cannot be used if they are screenshots or printed out.
Additionally, until November 25, passengers who ride using QR tickets will receive five times the usual amount of JR Coupons.
