Jetstar Group Commences Wearing New Uniforms, First Refresh in 20 Years
The Jetstar Group has today, November 28th, refreshed its uniforms for the first time in 20 years.
The new designs were created by the renowned Australian fashion designer, Genevieve Smart, over a 12-month period, with the participation of 40 pilots, cabin crew, and ground staff who helped finalize the designs. Though minor changes have been made to the uniforms in the past, this is the first complete overhaul. The new uniforms will be worn by pilots, cabin crew, and ground staff. The first flight in Japan to wear the new uniforms was the GK217 flight from Tokyo/Narita to Osaka/Kansai, departing at 7:00 am.
Inspired by the sunrises and sunsets seen from airplane windows, the traditional orange and black color scheme has been changed to “orange and dark blue.” The design incorporates elements of the company’s vision including fun, camaraderie, leisure, and casual air travel.
The Stellar Collection features designs adorned with Jetstar’s star motif, aiming to raise expectations for leisure while maintaining functionality. For the first time, a one-piece dress was introduced, designed to fit comfortably and allow ease of movement across different body types. The Stella blazer leverages the texture of linen and includes a chest pocket. Available tops include blazers, one-piece dresses, short and long sleeve blouses, polo shirts, while the bottoms offer skirts and pants. Additionally, knits, sweaters, cardigans, and coats that can be worn over blazers are also available.
The Horizon Collection was designed with contemporary textures and colors, imagining outfits for enjoying time at destinations. The blazer adopts a modern-classic style, complemented by classic shirts, and offers two types of pants to select the best style. The collection offers blazers, short and long sleeve shirts, polo shirts, slim fit and classic fit pants. It also includes knitwear, sweaters, and coats as options.
The Pilot Collection has shifted from black to dark blue and incorporates a star-pattern jacquard on the ties. Shoulder epaulettes, blades, and wing badges have all been updated.
