Uber Launches ‘Uber Premium’ in Osaka City
Uber Teens to Allow Teenagers to Hail Taxis in Japan
Uber Japan will introduce “Uber Teens,” a service allowing teenagers to hail taxis, starting December 11th in Japan.
Equipped with safety features such as automatic recording, a pin setting function, and the ability to track the ride status in real time, only highly-rated drivers are matched. It aims to solve the transportation issues of children in dual income families and has been launched in the USA in 2023, expanding to about 40 countries.
The service will be available in 11 prefectures including Tokyo and Kanagawa, where parents can create a family account and invite their children. Invited children can create their account, and parents can set a monthly spending limit for their children as needed.
