RNT Hotels announced the renovation of all guest rooms and public areas of “Richmond Hotel Sapporo Odori”, which reopened on December 1st.
The renovation design concept is based on the Ainu word ‘Popke’, meaning ‘warm’. The hotel offers five types of rooms totaling 187 rooms: ‘Standard Single’ with 100 rooms, ‘Moderate Double’ with 20 rooms, ‘Premier Corner Double’ with 10 rooms that feature a graphic wallpaper and a sofa set surrounding the TV, ‘Standard Twin’ that can accommodate up to three people with 48 rooms, and ‘Japanese Modern Premier Twin ~Popke~’ with 9 rooms that can accommodate up to four people. The ‘Japanese Modern Premier Twin ~Popke~’ rooms allow guests to experience staying without shoes and feature sliding doors and tatami mats inspired by Hokkaido’s culture. The lobby is decorated with natural materials reminiscent of Hokkaido.
The hotel’s 1st-floor restaurant, “Modish Sapporo”, has been renovated with an increased number of seats and buffet lanes, featuring wood-themed interiors. It will open for breakfast from December 2nd, offering a buffet that includes live-cooked sushi and tempura, seafood bowls, and daily changing ramen (Sapporo miso, Hakodate salt, Asahikawa soy sauce) which are local Hokkaido specialties. For lunch, it serves a semi-buffet centered on Western dishes. The lounge, exclusive for guests from 4 PM, offers free soft drinks and alcohol (chargeable from the second drink) and snacks.
