White Bear Hotels has begun managing Yama Momiji Inn in Tamana Hot Springs starting November 1.
The inn offers 12 rooms in total. The six rooms of the Japanese-modern ‘Nishi-Kan Washitsu’ (Western Building Japanese-style rooms) are equipped with 16-tatami-sized rooms and private dining, suitable even for families with children under elementary school age. The ‘Minami-Kan Washi-Yoshitsu’ (Southern Building Japanese-Western rooms) features five uniquely themed rooms, each 100 square meters in size, complete with a living room, dining area, and twin bedrooms, along with massage chairs. These rooms are intended for guests of junior high school age and older. The ‘Minami-Kan Tokubetsu-Shitsu 【Kurenai】’ (Southern Building Special Room [Crimson]) spans 120 square meters, offering a 20-tatami living and dining area that extends out to a terrace bathed in sunlight. The room is fitted with a massage chair and boasts the inn’s largest half-open-air bath with a bed for relaxation, suitable for guests of junior high school age and older. All rooms come with a half-open-air bath fed directly by the hot spring source, allowing guests to complete the check-in to check-out process within their rooms. Meals consist of dining options prepared in the room, featuring local seasonal delicacies for both dinner and breakfast.
The facility includes a large communal bath with an open-air bath called ‘Tatami no Yu’, a lounge ‘Danwa-Shitsu’ with beverages, and a shop ‘Akari no Lobby・Shop’ selling Kumamon goods, miscellaneous goods, sweets, and cosmetics.
Access is approximately 8 minutes by car from Shin-Tamana Station on the Kyushu Shinkansen, about 5 minutes by car from Tamana Station on the Kagoshima Main Line, and around 15 minutes by car from the Kikusui Interchange (IC) on the Kyushu Expressway.
