Hyatt Regency Kyoto will offer a “Japanese-Style Strawberry Afternoon Tea” from February 8 to April 27.
Collaborating with Chef Julien Perrinet from Park Hyatt Tokyo, the afternoon tea themed around strawberries is offered both in a tea stand and buffet style. It incorporates the traditional techniques of French patisserie while ambitiously infusing the changes of Japanese seasons and aesthetics into the sweets.
The menu includes signature desserts such as “Strawberry Charlotte,” “Cherry Black Forest,” and “Saint-Honoré.” The tea stand is adorned with “Mandarin and Strawberry Mousse with Gold Leaf” and “Sesame Tofu with Sesame Paste,” among others, while the buffet features pavlova, verrines, and strawberry soup. Drinks include three types of Japanese tea from the Ippodo selection, as well as free-flow coffee and tea.
The location is on the basement floor 1 at the Japanese cuisine restaurant, Touzan. Service is available from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM, with the last admission at 3 PM. Advance reservations by phone or online are required. The price is 6,500 yen for adults, and 3,250 yen for children aged 6-12, all tax and service charges included.
