Fujikyu Shizuoka Bus Resumes Operation of the ‘Kaguyahime Express’ from Fujinomiya/Fuji to Tokyo Station from November 1st
Japan Airlines (JAL) and WILLER ACROSS, part of the WILLER Group handling entertainment business, will operate an Expo-themed restaurant bus in line with the Osaka/Kansai Expo.
The restaurant bus is a unique double-decker vehicle developed by the WILLER Group, featuring a kitchen on the first floor and face-to-face seating with tables for 25 on the second floor. The ceiling on the second floor is transparent with an openable roof, allowing passengers to enjoy meals with a sense of openness and scenic views.
The company operates a business model that supports solving regional issues and revitalization through bus rentals, and is collaborating with JAL this time. The bus is wrapped in the same design as the Boeing 737-800 special livery aircraft “JAL Gundam JET” (registration number: JA342J) which started operations on March 3.
The bus will operate in the regions where the Gundam JET flies, from March to October, offering local cuisine and specialties prepared in its kitchen. Detailed operations schedule will be announced as soon as it is decided.
