LA Metro Opens First Segment of D Line Subway Extension
The PASMO Council began issuing the “TOURIST PASMO” card in May.
This is a limited-period IC card ticket sold for short-term international visitors to Japan, inheriting the concept of the PASMO PASSPORT IC card ticket that was available through 2024. The card design uses the globally popular motif of kanji characters, featuring the character for “travel” (旅) in the center, surrounded by other kanji related to travel and sightseeing. Users can take the card home as a souvenir after use.
The card is planned to be sold at ticket counters and ticket vending machines at railway stations in Narita Airport and Haneda Airport. The price at Narita Airport is 2,000 yen. At Haneda Airport, the available prices are 1,000, 2,000, 3,000, 4,000, 5,000, and 10,000 yen. Each price includes an identical amount of stored fare (SF). There is no deposit, and refunds are not available. The validity period is 28 days from the date of purchase.
